THOMASVILLE —
Tickets for the Thomasville Music & Drama Troupe’s 39th annual Spring Show go on sale to the public Friday at the Thomasville Visitors Center in downtown Thomasville and continue for the week leading up to the event.
The troupe’s nearly 120 performers — all students at area middle and high schools — have been preparing for the two-act show since January at the troupe’s Fred Allen Building, and they’re getting ready for the move into Thomasville’s historical Municipal Auditorium this weekend. Troupe Director Lisa Asher Davis has been heading up an expanded artistic team in preparation for the event, which has traditionally taken place over Mother’s Day Weekend since 1974, to put together a production that features Broadway showstoppers, Top 40 pop hits, country chart-toppers and, this year more than any other, classical pieces from the opera genre.
The Thomasville Visitors Center, located in the same building as the Municipal Auditorium at the corner of Jackson and Crawford streets, is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
