The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) HAS awarded the Jack Hadley Black History Museum a grant in the amount of $32,634.00, for one year.
The grant competition was intense. Only 14 programs out of the 41 considered were selected for funding. The Jack Hadley Black History Museum was the only museum awarded in Georgia.
The award will allow the museum to expand its outreach services and activities to Thomas County and surrounding communities. A part-time museum registrar and interns will be hired. Interns will be recruited from area high schools and Thomas, Albany State, Florida A&M and Florida State universities.
See Sunday's edition for more details.
