THOMASVILLE —
Two Thomas County school buses made contact with each other early Tuesday morning.
At the intersection of Ga. 3 and the north bypass, two buses had stopped and were waiting for a traffic light to turn green.
The second bus eased forward, and the vehicle’s fender mirror made contact with the left rear turn signal of the front bus.
No charges were filed in the incident.
“There were children on the buses, no injures,” said Sgt. Tracy Tabb, Thomasville Post 12 Georgia State Patrol commander.
“The safety of our students is always our first concern, and we are very grateful that no one was injured in this very minor accident,” said Dr. Dusty Kornegay, Thomas County school superintendent.
Kornegay said the Thomas County Sheriff's Office and Georgia State Patrol responded quickly to the accident.
Bus damage was minor, the superintendent said.
