THOMASVILLE —
When the Brookwood Warriors play Tiftarea Academy at Warrior Stadium on Friday, a throng of diminutive cheerleaders will join the varsity cheerleaders in front of the home crowd during the second quarter of the 7:30 p.m. game. The tiny spirit boosters, decked out in the school school colors of blue and while, will perform cheers, chants and stunts. They took part in the Little Warrior Cheer Clinic on Sept. 11 in the school gym. Organized by captain Ann Varnedoe and co-captain Sarah Cascone, Brookwood's varsity cheerleaders led the youngsters in dance routines, cheers, stunts and tumbling and in making spirit signs to use at the game. Math teacher Kyle Unglaub, the cheerleading sponsor, said, “Over 50 little girls attended the clinic, and the varsity cheerleaders did a great job.” The Little Warriors are students in the Lower School, from junior kindergarten through the 5th grade.
