Wynelle Callahan

Services for Wynelle “Tince” Callahan, 79, of Whigham, Ga., are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at Whigham Baptist Church. Elder Jon Mizell and the Rev. Leon VanLandingham will officiate and interment is in Woodlawn Cemetery, Whigham, Ga. Pallbearers are Larry Ulmer, Trey Gibbs, Jeremy Gintz, Neil Mayer, J. L. Rosencrantz and Tim Schafer. Mrs. Callahan died Sunday, Dec. 6, at her home in Whigham. Born Aug. 30, 1930, in Whigham, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy T. Harrison and Alma Lane Harrison. She married to Claude Callahan, who preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1989. She was a member of Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church and a beautician. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Terry Lee and Bonnie Parker of Whigham, Stephen Dale and Teresa Callahan of Thomasville; stepson, Larry and Barbara Callahan of Cairo; stepdaughter, Barbara and Jimmy Laing of Whigham; sisters, Sara H. Logue of San Antonio, Texas, Virginia Gibbs of Whigham, Mary H. Mucci of Sacramento, Calif., Bobbie H. Spencer of Naples, Fla.; grandchildren, Shaie Parker Bowen of Bainbridge, Ga., Terri Lynn Parker Anvar of Bainbridge, Bethany Gerleman of Morven, Justin Lee Parker of Whigham, Dena Howell of Whigham, Dale Callahan of Whigham; eight stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Callahan; her parents, Jimmy T. and Alma Lane Harrison and her brother, Jimmy T. Guy B. Hancock

Services for Guy B. Hancock, 54, of Pavo, are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner and the Rev. Dan Spencer will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Hancock died Dec. 6 at his residence in Pavo. Born Dec. 7, 1954, in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Francis "Frank" and Hazel Brook Hancock. On May 4, 1984, at All Saints Episcopal Church, he married Marianne Woodham Hancock of Pavo, who survives. He was a 1973 graduate of Central High School. He graduated with a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Georgia in 1977. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was an airline pilot for Piedmont Airlines and U.S. Airways for 25 years. In his earlier professional aviation career, he flew for Industrial Boiler and Flowers Foods. He was a devoted husband and father. Other survivors include son, Stanford Michael Francis Hancock of Pavo; brother-in-law, Jesse Carmichael "Mike" Woodham III; aunt, Dorothy "Dot" Hancock Mills and husband, Ben of Thomasville; cousins, Pamela Hancock Reeves and husband, Tom of Thomasville, Laura Kitchens and husband, Curt of Lakeland, Fla., Kathy Hoskinson and husband, Jim of Lakeland, Fla., Patti Ford and husband, Michael of Columbus; godchildren and many friends. Edna Belle Williams Miller

Services for Edna Belle Williams Miller, 98, of Cairo, Ga., are at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at Long Branch Baptist Church, Cairo, Ga. Interment follows in Long Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tim, John W., Mark and Daniel VanLandingham, Philip Walters and Terry Qualls. Mrs. Miller died on Monday, Dec. 7, at her home in Cairo. Born July 8, 1911, in Reno, Ga., she was a daughter of the late George Hiram Williams and Edna Barzilla Jones Williams. She was married to Benjamin Tillman Miller on Feb. 21, 1937, who preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1991. She was a homemaker and member of Long Branch Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara N. VanLandingham of Cairo, Ga., Judith and Jack Walter of Troy, Ala.; grandchildren and spouses, Timothy C. and Brenda VanLandingham of Cairo, Ga., John W. VanLandingham Jr. of Cairo, Ga., Mark G. VanLandingham of Nashville, Tenn., Daniel B. VanLandingham of Cairo, Ga., Philip F. Walters of Greensboro, N.C., Ruth M. and Terry Qualls of Henderson, Ala.; great-grandchildren and spouses, David, Hannah and Rebekah VanLandingham of Cairo, Ga., Dean, Allison and Audrey VanLandingham of Cairo, Ga., Rachel Walters of Greensboro, N.C., Matthew, Leah Grace and Haleigh Walters of Henderson, Ala. and Jessie and Steve Puciloski of Troy, Ala. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Tillman Miller; parents, George Hiram and Edna Barzilla Jones Williams; brothers, John Russell, George Jr. and Walter; and a sister, Josephine; and, five siblings died as infants or as children. Clinton Dwite Rogers

Services for Clinton Dwite Rogers, 63, of Albany, are at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home in the chapel in Pelham. The Rev. Larry Hibberts and the Rev. Phillip Sadler will officiate and interment is in Sunset Memory Gardens in Thomasville. Pallbearers are Clint Everett, James Brown, Dillon McRae, Dallas McRae, Scott Smith, Yancy Sadler and Shane Gossett. Mr. Rogers died Saturday, Dec. 5, at his residence. Born on May 30, 1946, he was a son of the late Hobert and Agnes Thomas Rogers. Mr. Rogers was the husband of Joan Brenda Gossett Rogers and was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. Mr. Rogers was a retired general contractor. Survivors include his wife, Joan Brenda Gossett Rogers of Albany; sons, Wayne Rogers of Bainbridge, Chris Rogers of Ochlocknee; daughters, Brenda Johnson and husband, Hardy of Thomasville, Angela Rogers of Lake Park, Ga.; his brothers, William Harvey Rogers of Albany, Gordon Leroy Rogers of Lexington, S.C.; Wayne Rogers of Calhoun, Ga.; a sister, Betty Smith of Pelham; grandchildren, Clint Everett, James Brown, Dallas "Bud" McRae, Dillon McRae, Christina Brown, Jenny Rogers, Ashlynn Rogers; and many nieces and nephews. Jacqueline (Jackie) Turner Winchester

Services for Jacqueline (Jackie) Turner Winchester, 67, of Thomasville, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at First Baptist Church Sanctuary. The Rev. Steve Brooks will officiate and interment is in Medart Cemetery in Medart, Fl. Mrs. Winchester died Dec. 6 at Archbold Hospital. Born Feb. 2, 1942, in Tallahassee, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Rufus Hugh Turner, Eva Strickland Storch and stepfather, Richard C. Storch. On June 28, 1964, in Tallahassee, Fla., she married Charles M. Winchester who survives. Mrs. Winchester was a seventh-grade science teacher for 45 years at Thomas County Middle School and was a member of First Newark Baptist Church. Survivors include son, Charles (Chuck) M. Winchester Jr. of Thomasville; grandchildren, Justin Stucky, Chancley Stucky, Rebecca Erin Winchester, John Dallas Winchester, Daniel Camelle Winchester. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Hugh Turner. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jacqueline Winchester Fund for Furtherment of Education c/o Thomasville National Bank, P.O. Box 1999, Thomasville, Ga. 31799.
