Noon — In honor of Retired Educators Day and National Education Week the Thomasville/Thomas County Educators Association will meet at Jerger Elementary School for lunch and a tour of the school. For information call 226-3296.

12:30 p.m. — The Thomasville Rotary Club meets at the Plaza.

5:45 p.m. — Early bird Bingo games, sponsored by the Kouncil Club of Thomasville, are at St. Augustine Catholic Church social hall. Regular Bingo sessions begin at 6:45. Prizes awarded and proceeds go to local charities of southwest Georgia.

The Thomasville Multiple Sclerosis self-help group meets at 6 p.m., the third Tuesday of every month in the Flipper Room at the Thomas County Public Library. The meeting is to bring area people together to discuss their issues in coping with the disease and the organization. Family members and caregivers can attend. The Meigs Country Hoedown is every Friday in the Meigs Community Building across from the post office. Gospel singing starts at 7:30 p.m. and ine dancing is from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. There is a variety of bands and singers. Soft drinks, coffee and snacks are available; no smoking or alcoholic beverages.

Thomasville Masonic Lodge No. 369 meets on second and fourth Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.

Plantation Manor Assisted Living Community seeks volunteers of all ages for its Gracious Living (Alzheimer's/dementia) wing. The volunteers will assist with the activities program. For information call Gail Davis, Betty Sawyer or Gail Lancaster at 227-0880.

Parents of children from infant to five-years-old can attend a weekly meeting to discuss the joys and frustrations of parenting. A parent educator is available to help parents learn effective methods of communication and discipline as well as how to take care of themselves while caring for children. The group meets from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Wednesdays at the Thomasville Community Resource Center. For information or to register, call 226-5846. There is no charge for the class.

The Thomasville Noon Lions Club meets at noon the second and fourth Tuesdays at the Plaza.

VFW Post 4995 and its auxiliary meet every third Thursday at 7 p.m. at the post home at 1296 Old Cassidy Rd.

VFW Post 8433 meets at 7:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Roddenbery Memorial Library Annex in Cairo.
