<font color="#CC0000"> NEW </font>CHS one-act Sunday

THOMASVILLE — Cairo High School Drama Club is preparing for a “Perfect Wedding.”

The play, written by Robin Hawdon, is the group’s one-act production it will take to competition.There will be one public performance, 2 p.m. Sunday at the school's auditorium.

“Wedding” is a comedy that has been performed all over Europe and America, according to the event news release.

“A bridegroom wakes on his wedding morning in his own bridal suite, with his bride-to-be about to arrive any moment, and finds a naked girl in bed beside him,” according to the release. “An extremely attractive naked girl whom, in the depths of his post stag-night hangover, he can’t remotely remember even having been introduced to.”

The chaos “reaches nuclear proportions” but the play is “that rare combination — a riotous comedy and a touching love story at the same time.”

The cast of characters are: Brittany Morrow as “Rachel,” Jacob Jones as “Bill,” Leland Bowman as “Tom,” Chelsea Ferrell as “Judy,” Haley Maynor as “Julie” and Brandi Adkins as “Daphne”

The stage crew is Willie Allen, Kayla Clark, Luv Patel, Josh Robertson, Taylor Singletary, Brian Spence, Malane Tilley and Jordan Downing.

The play is directed by Michael Inlow and sets are by Arley Fisher.
