THOMASVILLE — A suspect in a drug case was not at home last week when officers found felony amounts of marijuana and cocaine in his closet, but narcotics agents caught up with him Wednesday.
Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division agents were told David Rauls Jr., also known as Jo Jo, 35, 108 Festus St., was selling cocaine and marijuana at his residence.
Rauls’ girlfriend was at home when officers executed a search warrant.
Agents found more than four ounces of individually packaged marijuana and more than 20 pieces of crack cocaine in Rauls’ bedroom closet. More marijuana — wrapped for sale — was found with the cocaine.
Warrants were taken charging Rauls with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and two counts of marijuana and cocaine possession within 1,000 feet of a school.
On Wednesday, a tipster contacted agents and told them Rauls was at a convenience store on Carroll Hill.
“Agents, assisted by Thomasville police, took him into custody,” said Kevin Lee, narcotics/vice division chief.
Bond was denied Thursday. Rauls remains in the Thomas County Jail.
