Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28).
Look at a sheet of music and you will see a mark called a rest.
It means you are to quit playing for a brief count. You sit quiet and still with your instrument on your lap. This inactivity does not mean you have come to the end of the composition, however.
There is more music to play, and you are getting ready to play it. To live a good and influential life, you need rests and stops along the way. You need times when you are getting ready for what is to come. Jesus recognized those times as opportunities to put down your heavy burden and find renewal in him.
My dear friends, a rest is that time and occasion when you get ready to make more music. When you take the time to rest in Jesus, you will be renewed, revived and restored for your next journey waiting ahead of you.
Always know, those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:31).
Remember, that I am always praying for you and your family, I am still holding up the banner of faith for you all as well, something great is headed your way.
Today is a great day, because you are in it.
