Charles Raiford Pendergast

Services for Charles Raiford Pendergast are at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at Barnetts Creek Baptist Church where he was a member. The Rev. Harold Thomaston will officiate and interment is in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Larry Tuten, Byron Griner, Cecil Stewart, Sammy Davis, Jimmy Gunter and Randy Stewart. Mr. Pendergast died Monday, Feb. 8 at Archbold Hospital. Born Jan. 25, 1938, in Grady County, Ga., he was a son of the late John Raiford Pendergast and Theatis Wade Pendergast. He was retired from GE and was a farmer. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Davis of Thomasville; son, Mike Pendergast (Marlene) of Thomasville; daughter, Kimberly Palmer of Thomasville; sister, Faye Tuten (Larry) of Thomasville; brother, W.L. Pendergast of St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandchildren, Samantha and Travis Williams Jr., Seth Davis, Cole Pendergast, Cody Pendergast, Nikki Palmer; amd great-grandchildren, Ella Williams, Davis Williams and Sammy Davis. He was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Pendergast; and two sisters, Willene Watkins and Deloris Carlton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today at the funeral home.
