Dora M. Coleman

Services for Dora M. Coleman, Thomasville, are at 2 p. m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at First Newark Baptist Church. Interment is at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Thomasville, with the Rev. Steve Brooks officiating. Active pallbearers are Terry Mills, Charles Warmack, Jack Willis, Jerry Brooks, Gary Harrison and Ed Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Bill McDowell, Billy Clark and LeDon Clark. Mrs. Coleman died Dec. 17, 2009, at Archbold Medical Center. She was a homemaker and cosmetologist. A daughter of the late Otha W. Clark and Somona M. Rudd, she was born Sept. 21, 1934, in Greensboro, Fla. She was married to Ervin M. Coleman of Thomasville on Jan. 3, 1963, in Quincy, Fla. She was a member of First Newark Baptist Church, attended school in Greensboro and is a cosmetology graduate. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Coleman is survived by daughters, Linda Walfield (Wally), Birmingham, Ala., Cheryl L. Coleman, Thomasville, Barbara Black (Greg), Arab, Ala.; sister, Peggy Brandon, Greensboro, Fla.; brother, Charles Clark (Edna), Dover, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Elane Clark, Tallahassee, Fla., Sybil Clark, Thomasville; granddaughters, Amber Evans, Nashville, Tenn., Ashley Evans, Gadsden, Ala.; grandson, Christopher Black, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; great-granddaughter, Madison Olivia Evans-Rose, Gadsden, Ala.; and nieces and nephews, Cindy, Bill, Donna, LeDon and David. She was preceded in death by brothers, Richard Clark, Doc Clark and Harold Clark. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p. m. today at the funeral home.
