Charles Edward Crew

Services for Charles Edward Crew, 61, of Cairo, are at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec., 20, 2009, at Eastside Baptist Church of Cairo, with interment following at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Thomasville. The Rev. Tim Robson and Dr. Paul Jones will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Ward Hollingsworth, Mike Gainous, Jimmy Maxwell, Maurice Rykard, Larry Brinkley and Earl Sasser. Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Creech, Ray Walden, Ken Walden and C. J. Harrison. Mr. Crew passed away at his home in Cairo on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009. Mr. Crew was born in Cairo on Sept. 7, 1948, to Floyce Mae Johnson Crew and the late Raymond Edward Crew. On June 30, 2001, Mr. Crew married Wanda Creech Crew, who survives him. He was a machine operator with Timken and a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Wanda C. Crew, Cairo; daughters, Amanda McRae (Jim), Thomasville, Wendy Beatty (Chris), Boston; grandchildren, Kyle and Kortney Riley, Thomasville, Daylee and Dalyn Beatty, Boston; sister, Ann C. Godwin, Cairo; and mother, Floyce Mae Crew, Cairo. Mr. Crew was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Edward Crew. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, from 6 until 8 p.m. Guests may sign the online register at www.clarkfuneral.com. — Clark Funeral Home
