Mother Clester W. Hill

Services for Mother Clester W. Hill, 83, of 685 Third Street N.E., Cairo, are 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at New Jerusalem Holiness Church in Cairo. Elder Rebecca Fortner and Elder Tom Burch will officiate and interment is in St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Whigham. Active pallbearers are James Jackson III, Jeremiah Hill, Rhoderick Robinson, Antavius Robinson, Antonio Walker, Christopher Sheffield, Lovett Sheffield Jr. and Issac Yates. Mrs. Hill was a life resident of Cairo and was a housewife. She was born Feb. 2, 1926, in Cotton, to parents Ellie and Carrie Warren. She married Zara Hill Sr. on Sept. 18, 1954. He preceded her in death. She was a member of St. John Free Will Holiness Church and attended public school in Grady County. Mrs. Hill died Dec. 14, 2009, at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla after an extended illness. Survivors include sons, Eddie L. Gordon of Coleman, Fla., and Zara (Clevette) Hill of Cairo; daughter, Angela Jackson of Cairo; sister, Geneva McBride of Cairo; sister-in-law, Estella Warren of Wyandanch, N.Y.; god daughters, Mody Robinson Corker and Bernice Copeland, both of Cairo; special grandson, Christopher (Barbara) Sheffield of Thomasville; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. — Cloud & Son Funeral Home
