Jewell Griffin Wilkerson

Graveside services for Jewell Griffin Wilkerson are at 11 a.m., at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Chattahoochee, Fla. Born April 26, 1922, in Thomas County, Ga., she was a daughter of the late William G. and Annie Lucile Walton Griffin of Ochlocknee. She taught school for more than 46 years as a teacher in Ochlocknee, Boston, Moultrie, Fort Gaines, Cuthbert, Sneads, Fla. and Chattahoochee, Fla. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Chattahoochee. Survivors include a sister, Georgia Beatrice Griffin of Ochlocknee; a daughter, Nancy Wilkerson Chapman and husband, Joe of Jacksonville, Fla.; a granddaughter, Vikki C. Shaw and husband Bob of Jacksonville; two great-grandchildren, Jason Dempsey, Leah Dempsey; two nephews, Berry Griffin of Berryville, Ark., Jason Griffin of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a niece, Beth Ann Griffin Broeker of Berryville, Ark. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Douglas Wilkerson; and a brother, Tom Griffin. — Lanier-Andler Funeral Home, Chattahoochee, Fla.
