Thelmer Olan Wilson

Graveside services for Thelmer Olan Wilson, 75, of Thomasville are at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009 at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Julian Griner will officiate. Mr. Wilson died Nov. 17, at his residence. Born Nov. 1, 1934 in Thomas County, he was the son of the late Thelmer Powell Wilson and Annie Mae Mallard Wilson. On April 22, 1961, he married Jean Zeigler Wilson, who preceded him in death on Nov. 26, 1991. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired parts salesman for Adams International. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Lee Murphy of Boston, Janet and Lee Howard of Quitman; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Martha Jane Wilson of Thomasville; grandchildren, Rhette Murphy, Heath Murphy, Morgan Murphy, Shelby Howard, Mason Wilson, Thomas Wilson; great-grandchildren, Reagen Anglin and Kyleigh Murphy; sisters, Ruth Evans of New Mexico, Kay Barfield of Idaho; and brother, Clarence Wilson of Thomasville. Memorials may be made to the Lewis B. Hall Singletary Oncology Center, 116 Mimosa Drive, Thomasville, Ga. 31792 or to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 818 Gordon Ave., Thomasville, Ga. 31792.
