Marcus Mandrell Brown

Services for Marcus Mandrell Brown, 26, of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Nov. 21, 2009, at Providence Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member. The Rev. Clay Phillips of Rose City Pentecostal will officiate and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Thomasville. Mr. Brown died Nov. 12 at Archbold Hospital. Born Sept. 16, 1983, in Thomasville, he was a son of Patricia A. Brown and Willie J. Samuel. He attended Thomasville city school system and received his GED from Southwest Georgia Technical College in 2008. He was a laborer at Balfour Lumber Company. He dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and later joined Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Tank, as they affectionately called him, was a very family-oriented person and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was loved by many and will truly be missed by all that came in contact with him. Survivors include his daughter, Marquasia Brown of Thomasville; parents, Patricia A. Brown and Willie J. Samuel of Thomasville; sister, Patsy D. Milliner (James) of Leesburg; brother, Quanbondo Samuel of Thomasville; nephew, James Milliner Jr. of Leesburg; nieces, Quendashia Harris of Boston, Jameriya Milliner of Leesburg; godbrothers, Quentin Harris (Salena) of Boston, Chris Crumidy of Thomasville; maternal grandmother, Mary B. Everrett of Thomasville; paternal grandfather, Freddie Samuel Sr. of Thomasville; uncles, Henry Morris Laing (Learance), Johnnie H. Laing Jr., Nathaniel Laing all of Thomasville, Calvin Laing (Kelly) of Tallahassee, Fla., Freddie Samuel Jr., Gary Samuel, Frank Samuel all of Atlanta; aunts, Mary A. Coates, Cynthia B. Laing, Barbara J. Ivey, Jessie M. Reddick, Rosetta Mitchell, Joann Samuel, Vivian Samuel all of Thomasville; great-aunts, Johnnie Mae White, Merylene Everett of Thomasville; godaunts, Mary Williams (Nick), Sandra James-Bradley, Jackie Williams (Victor), Mary Sanders, Theresa Moody all of Thomasville; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Johnnie H. Laing Sr.; paternal grandmother, Gertrude Samuel; uncles, David and Avon Laing; special cousins, George Ivey, Joshua Sanders, Maleyah and Cassandra D. Whitehead.
