Gladys M. Thomas

Services for Gladys M. Thomas are at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Old Albany Road in Thomasville. Brother Kelly will officiate and interment follows in Boston Memorial Cemetery in Boston. Mrs. Thomas was born on July 26, 1926, in Boston to the late Robert and Anne Belle Major. On Oct. 2, 1948, she married Wilbur Thomas who preceded her in death. She worked and retired from Archbold Memorial Hospital. Survivors include two sons, Earl Major of Macon, Lee Thomas (Reatha Thomas) of Columbia, Md.; three daughters, Barbar Wideman (Calvin Wideman) of Boston, Brenda McCaskill (partner, Jimmy) of Thomasville, Marilyn Bean (Willie Bean) of Boston; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; five sisters, Robbie Lee Dixon of Washington, D.C., Annie Belle Davis of Washington, D.C., Thelma Murray of Boston, Bettie Davis of Boston, Ida Pearl Street of Thomasville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by Gary Thomas, Wilbur Thomas Jr.; a sister, Annie Kate Hill; and four brothers, Lee Wesley Major, Albert Major, Eddie Major and Johnny James Major. Family and friends should assemble at 10 a.m., at 323 Johnson St. in Boston for the procession. — Hadley’s Funeral Home
