David Lee Smythe

Services for David Lee Smythe of Dixie are at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Evergreen Baptist Church. The Rev. Kenneth Green and the Rev. Harry Miller will officiate. Honoring his request Mr. Smythe will be cremated. Mr. Smythe died Tuesday Nov. 3, 2009, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Sanford, Fla., he was the son of Charles William and Marcile Miller Smythe. He was a retired truck driver and member of the Evergreen Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Smythe of Dixie; his son, Jeffrey David Smythe of Dixie; nieces, Macayla and Maddie and other nieces and nephews; step-mother, Chris Smythe of Woodenville, Wash.; two sisters-in-law; Mavis Watson (Peter) Fulton of Thomasville, Dena L. Gooch of Suches, Ga.; and a brother-in-law; Glenn Denny of Pinellas Park, Fla. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Amy Smythe and Jackie Denny.
