Eunice Inez Cooper Courtney

Services for Eunice Inez Cooper Courtney, 79, of Thomasville, are at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Westside Baptist Church. The Rev. Randy Blow will officiate, and interment is at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Courtney died June 22 at her residence. Born April 13, 1930, in Pelham, she was a daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt "T.R." Cooper and Lillian Brock Smith. She was married to Frank Roland Courtney, who preceded her in death. She was a retired secretary from Coats and Clark and a member of Westside Baptist Church. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Edwina Courtney of Ochlocknee; granddaughter, Heather Michelle Courtney of Ochlocknee; siblings, Glenda Rich and husband, John of Pelham, James Cooper and wife, Pat of Orlando, Fla., Judy Conley and husband, Elmer of Pelham and Wendel Cooper and wife, Beverly of Pelham; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family; special friends, Martha Medders and Blanch Jones. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Cooper. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 818 Gordon Ave., Thomasville, Ga. 31792 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1201, Albany, Ga. 31702. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 and 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
