Services for Sarah Irmalene Parker Clements Tucker, 88, are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at First Baptist Church Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Tom Jacobs will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are her nephews. Mrs. Tucker died Sunday, Nov. 2. Born March 20, 1920 in Berrien County, she was the daughter of the late Hardy H. Parker and Adele Sandifer Parker. She attended school in Americus and graduated from Thomasville High School in 1937. She married Hubert Stephenson Clements on Sept. 13, 1938, who preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 1960. On March 23, 1967, she married Henry Wallace Tucker, who survives. Mrs. Tucker was a member of First Baptist Church since 1943, a member of the Ginger Griffin Sunday school class, The Young at Heart group and a women's missionary group, a member of the Elk's Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and the Travel Club of Thomasville. She was a homemaker and worked for over 20 years for the Thomasville City Schools as a secretary and a lunchroom manager at Harper and Balfour schools. She retired in 1982. Survivors include daughter, Patricia Clements Shelley and husband Dorsey; son, James Hardy Clements and wife Beverly; stepsons, Gary Tucker and wife Betty, Anthony Tucker and wife Pat; grandchildren, Angela Shelley Wiggins, Timothy Wiggins, Marcia Shelley Millere, Edmond Millere, Allen Shelley, Cindy Marshall, Laura Clements Newton, Keefe Newton, Donna Mitchell Brown, Rhonda Tucker McMahan, Todd McMahan, Gary Tucker Jr., Wendy Tucker, Luanne Tucker Poppell, Kevin Poppell, Amy Tucker Edwards, Jay Edwards; great-grandchildren, Keith Shelley, Saralyn Shelley, Abigail Shelley, Rosalie Millere, Ella Millere, Grant Newton, Lauren Newton, Whitney Brown, Morgan McMahan, Mazie Grace McMahan, Andrew Tucker, Mary Wynne Tucker, Matthew Poppell, Maggie Poppell, Mallory Poppell, Alexis Edwards, Austin Edwards; great great-grandchild, Kayden Grace Poppell; sister, Bennie Helen Carroll and husband Noel of Vidalia; sister-in-law, Wylene Parker of Dublin; brother-in-law, Joe Clements and wife Alma of Thomasville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Defreitas; brothers, Billy Parker, Marion Parker, Aubrey Parker; brothers-in-law, William Ramey, John (Buddy) Defreitas, Fred Clements, Kurt Clements; sisters-in-law, Jonnie Clements, Ruby Clements, Abbie Clements, Dorothy Clements, Vivian Parker; grandchildren, Maria Shelley, Melanie Shelley; nephews Fred Clements Jr., Michael P. Ramey Sr.; and niece, Susan Clements. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today at the funeral home.
