Roosevelt James

Services for Roosevelt James of Cairo are at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 5, 2008, at House of God Miracle Temple. Bishop Bessie Bennett, pastor, the Rev. Dellise Cox officiating and interment is in Crestview Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Russell Williams, Ozell Smith, Larry Hall, Jessie James, David James, George Howard III, Nate James, Patrick Howard and Robert James. Mr. James died June 24 at Grady General Hospital. Born in Gadsden County, Fla., he was a son of the late Mason and Clara Sapp James. He was married to Eva Daniels who preceded him in death. Survivors include sons, Robert James, Isiah Leaks, Willie Daniels all of Cairo; daughters, Shirley Ann James (John Kelley), Betty Joe Mobley (Cedric), Ruby Nell Hall (Lawrence) all of Cairo, Roneatha Adams (Winston) of Albany; brothers, William James, Willie Lee James, Jimmie Lee Jaames, Earnest James all of Cairo, Robert Lee James of North Miami Beach, Fla., Emory James (Carolyn) of Opa Locka, Fla.; sisters, Lee Ester Williams (Russell), Cora Lee Howard (George), Eloise Smith (Smith) all of Cairo; brother-in-law, Charlie Daniels (Earline) of Cairo; 28 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. — Weston’s Funeral Home
