Leroy Williams

Services for Leroy “Brother” Williams, 89, of Thomasville are at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 20, 2010, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member. The Rev. Andrew Anderson will officiate and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers are members of Joppa Lodge No. 43. Mr. Williams died March 10 in Thomasville. Born Feb. 18, 1921, in Thomas County, he was a son of the late Abe and Penny Williams. He was married to Lizzie Revels who preceded him in death. He was employed by Walden Logging Company and a member of Joppa Lodge No. 43. Survivors include granddaughter, Carol R. Davis of Thomasville; grandson, Willie (Bernadine) Jones Jr. of Cairo; stepdaughters, Matline “Faye” Sherman of Thomasville, Linda Simmons of St. Petersburg, Fla.; stepson, Cleveland Walker Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; son-in-law, Willie R. Ralph of Thomasville; grandson, Anthony Rankins of Thomasville; granddaughters, Rasheeda Sherman of Thomasville, Tanjala Harris, Latrice Grayson, Katina Toles all of St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandson, Drico Toles of St. Petersburg, Fla.; great-granddaughters, Taleka Revels, Nathasha Davis both of Thomasville, Stephanie Sexion of Atlanta, Shenada Henderson of Thomasville; great-grandsons, Terrence Jones, ZaCarious Sanders both of Thomasville, Joshua Blalock of Atlanta, Rondarian Jones of Thomasville; great-granddaughters, Kenyetta Coston, Quantereyia Davis both of Thomasville, Shamara Jones, Lizzie Jones both of Tifton; great-grandson, Willie Lee Jones III of Thomasville; great-granddaughters, Miracle Jones, Midashia Jones, Deondria lewis, Tiffany (Willie) Miller-Clark, Crystal (Anthony) Miller-Diggs all of Thomasville; great-grandson, Austin R. Miller of Thomasville; great-granddaughter, Jasmine R. Miller of Killeen, Texas; great-grandsons, Andre Miller of Moultrie, Marquis Sapp of Thomasville; great-granddaughters, Kiana Rankins, Savannah Thomas both of Thomasville; great-grandson, Juwan Brooks of Thomasville; 30 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Brown (Judson) of Miami, Fla.; nieces, Mary Brown (Judson), Mary (Otis) Thomas, Elizabeth (Willie) Mitchell, Christine Duncan, Glory Taylor; nephew, Willie J. (Linda) Taylor; numerous other relatives and sorrowing friends; special cousins, Joshua Griffin (Grema), Bessie Williams, Georgia Bell Jones (the late Wilbert), Everlene Thurman (Robert) and Marie Thurman (Jimmy); and friend, Cleveland Walker.
