INMATE ESCAPES

THOMASVILLE — A Thomas County Prison inmate escaped from a prisoner work detail about 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The escapee, Jerry Darrin Ross, 38, is 5-foot-9 and weighs 180 pounds.

He was last seen in the Country Oaks Golf Course/Airport Road area.

Ross, originally from Irwin County, is serving a sentence for burglary.

Anyone with information about the escapee should call 911.
