Two pronounced dead at accident scene

THOMASVILLE — Damian Brown, 28, and Michael Bevard, 24, were pronounced dead after a traffic accident near Southwestern State Hospital at 1:08 a.m. on Monday. The vehicle was traveling on South Pinetree Boulevard at a high rated speed when the driver lost control after maneuvering a curve.

The left side of the vehicle struck a tree.

Minutes before, a Thomas County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted two vehicles suspected of drag racing headed south on Jackson Street where it intersects with Martin Luther King Drive.

The Thomas County’s Sheriff’s Office is still looking for the other vehicle in the incident. The vehicle is suspected to be a dark blue Crown Victoria.

If any one has any information about the crash, they are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office or the Georgia State Patrol.
