Margie Harrell Morrell Singleton

Services for Margie Harrell Morrell Singleton, 86, of Thomasville, are 11 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at Macedonia Baptist Church. Rev. A. C. Gilliard will officiate and interment will be held in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will include Lance Morrell, Lane Morrell, Mark Morrell, Chad Morrell, Rex Robinson and Danny Kelly. Mrs. Singleton died July 2, 2009, at her residence. Born on April 14, 1923, in Coleman, Fla., to the late Rosco Harrell and Odessa Lairsey Harrell, she was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She married Mr. Hewart Morrell on Dec. 23, 1939. Mr. Morrell died March 4, 1963; she then married Claude Singleton on April 28, 1966. He died April 26, 2000. Mrs. Singleton continued to live in Thomasville with her precious, long-haired Chihuahua, Bell Sing, which preceded her in death. Bell was cremated and will be laid to rest with Mrs. Singleton. Survivors include daughter Brenda Morrell Lambrecht and husband Ron of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; sons, Lannis Morrell and wife Helen and John Mark Morrell and wife Cindy, all of Pelham; stepdaughters, June Grover of Boston and Jackie Reed and husband Daniel of Mobile, Ala.; granddaughters, Melody Collins of Ocala, Fla., Gina Wynn of Ormond Beach, Fla., Leslie Carraway of Cairo, Michelle Mobley of Cairo; granddaughter-in-law, Patty Collins of Whigham; grandsons, Lance Morrell and wife Heather of Cairo, Lane Morrell and wife Jennifer of Pelham, Mark Morrell of Cairo, Chad Morrell and wife Natalie of Cairo; step-granddaughter, Julie Robinson and husband Rex of Boston; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Latrelle Childs of Okeechobee, Fla., and Marilyn Cook and husband Sam of Alabama; and brother, Bob Harrell and wife Waffa of Saudi Arabia. She was preceded in death by husbands Hewart Morrell and Claude Singleton, parents Rosco Harrell and Odessa Lairsey Harrell Spence, stepfather Bluford Spence, grandson John Paul Collins and great-grandson J R.
